1. Overview
Baby Kick Counter helps expecting parents log and review fetal movements. You do not need an account to use the App.
Most of your kick-counting data is stored locally on your device. We collect a limited amount of anonymous usage information to understand how the App is used and to improve it.
2. Information We Collect
A. Information stored on your device (not sent to our servers)
The following information is stored locally on your phone or tablet and is not uploaded to our servers:
-
Kick counts and session records (start time, end time, individual kick timestamps)
-
Your chosen tracking mode (Session Tracking or Open Tracking)
-
Your due date (if you choose to enter one)
-
Reminder preferences (days, times, on/off)
-
Theme and appearance settings
-
Onboarding and app preference settings
-
Data needed for the Lock Screen widget to display and sync your count
This data is stored using on-device storage technologies such as a local database (SQLite) and device storage (AsyncStorage). On iOS, the local database may use encryption.
If you delete the App, this on-device data is generally removed with it. We do not maintain a cloud backup of your kick sessions unless you use a separate device backup service (such as iCloud or Google backup), which is controlled by your device settings and Apple/Google.
B. Anonymous usage and analytics data
We use Mixpanel, a third-party analytics service, to collect anonymous usage information in production builds of the App. Mixpanel is configured with automatic event tracking turned off.
Examples of information that may be collected include:
-
App opens and general navigation (e.g. opening Settings, History, or comparison screens)
-
Onboarding choices (such as how often you plan to track and your selected tracking style)
-
Feature usage (such as changing tracking mode, setting a due date, or finishing a session)

Aggregate session information, such as session duration or number of kicks when you manually add or complete a session
-
Approximate pregnancy week when you set a due date
-
In-app rating responses (if you choose to submit one)
-
Interactions with optional promotional unlock screens inside the App
-
Whether you tapped links to our other apps
This data is used to understand how the App is used, fix bugs, and improve features. It is not used to sell your personal information.
Mixpanel may assign your device an anonymous identifier. We do not intentionally collect your name, email address, or phone number through analytics.
